Vance-Granville Community College biology instructor Phyllis “Button” Brady recently received the President’s Leadership Award.

From 2011 through 2013, she served as chair of the college’s Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Reaffirmation Committee, where she lead more than 100 employees in gathering evidence and documents to submit to a regional accrediting agency. Brady had been a full-time instructor at the college since 1992.

The award was presented by college president Dr. Stelfanie Williams.

It is one of three Glen Raven Excellence in Teaching and Leadership Awards that were presented to college employees this academic year.

The other two award recipients were Ross Ragonese, who received the Faculty Member of the Year Award, and Melissa Ayscue, who received the Staff Member of the Year Award. Ragonese and Ayscue received their awards in 2013.
