Today, Cruizers Convenience Marketplace will donate $6,500 to Henderson Middle School. The funds are being made available through the BP Fueling Communities Grant Program.

The presentation of a check to Dr. John Hargrove, principal of the school, will take place at the store, located at 567 Ruin Creek Road, Henderson, at 11 a.m.

“We were able to qualify for the program and wanted to direct the money to an organization that makes a difference in Vance County,” wrote Edward Holmes, Cruizers Convenience Marketplace president, in an emailed statement. “During times of budget cuts, we are very proud to be able to provide financial assistance to local schools in our area.”

This year, Cruizers, through a larger initiative made possible by ExxonMobil and BP grant programs, has donated $20,000 to a total of 28 local schools.
