The fall and winter seasons have been busy for the Middleburg Garden Club.

Members donated Christmas items to families in need, held meals for honorary members, provided floral arrangements for the Vance County Senior Center, donated poinsettias to the Durham Veterans Affairs Hospital and collaborated with members of the Woodland and Colonial garden clubs to decorate Christmas trees at Perry Memorial Library.

The club held a Middleburg Fun Day, during which funds were raised by selling plants and various items made by club members.

Members also attended the N.C. Garden Club District 9 meeting at the N.C. Botanical Gardens.

The club’s regular meetings have included presentations such as “Don’t Throw It Out, Use It in the Garden,” “Reduce Allergies in the Garden,” and “How to Prevent Hibiscus Bloom from Dropping Off.”

A new addition to the group's activities, the club recently selected a Yard of the Season in Middleburg. The winning yard was at the home of Ray and Shirley Bullock off Jacksontown Road.
