New laser shows now featured at Rocky Mount planetarium
The Children’s Museum and Science Center in Rocky Mount has opened several new laster shows for the public.
• Colors of the World: Tuesday-Sunday, at 3 p.m. (through April) — a family matinee which explores musical traditions from around the world, incorporating imagery specific to each culture.
• Laser Motown: Saturdays, at 8 p.m. (through February) — laser graphics accompany songs by Diana Ross, the Temptations, Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson, The Four Tops and others.
• Laser Michael Jackson: Saturdays, at 8 p.m. (throughout March) — laser light show featuring tracks, such as “Bad,” “Beat It,” “Thriller,” “The Way You Make Me Feel” and “Billy Jean.”
• Laser Beatles: Saturdays, at 8 p.m. (throughout April) — animation accompanies psychedelic laser visuals during tracks such as “Help!,” “Yesterday,” “Strawberry Fields” and “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.”
Operating hours at the facility are as follows: Tuesday-Friday — 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Saturdays — 10 a.m.-9 p.m.; Sundays — 1-5 p.m.; Mondays — closed.
