EDC director honored by international council
Stuart Litvin, director of the Henderson-Vance Economic Development Commission, has been awarded Fellow Member status by the International Economic Development Council.
Litvin’s award was presented for “attaining unusual stature in the field of economic development and closely related disciplines,” according to a statement from the IEDC.
Litvin has held the position with Henderson-Vance EDC since July 2011. Since 1975, he’s worked in economic development in New York City, Philadelphia, Virginia, Mississippi, Louisiana and Florida.
He has represented communities or private businesses in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, South America, the Caribbean and China.
Litvin received his undergraduate and master’s degrees from Pace University in New York City. He has an associate’s degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology.
Litvin said there are only about 140 recipients of the designation, including two others active in North Carolina.
