Small Business Summit scheduled for Oct. 22

The Vance-Granville Community College Small Business Center’s second annual Small Business Summit is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 22.

The event is from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the civic center on the college’s main campus in Vance County.

The summit is titled, “Know What’s Vital to Your Business Today.” It will feature guest speakers, interactive discussions and an expo for business and agency sponsors to exhibit products and services.

Speakers will include Hilda Pinnix-Ragland, Amy Wood Pasquini and Harry Ponder.

Pinnix-Ragland will speak on leadership. She is the vice president of corporate public affairs for Duke Energy.

Pasquini, marketing director for Our State magazine, will speak on marketing.

Ponder, of Carolina Business Services, will discuss the Affordable Care Act and how it will affect small businesses.

The summit was organized by the college in partnership with the Henderson-Vance Chamber of Commerce, the Chamber of Commerce of Warren County, the Granville County Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Franklin County Chamber of Commerce.

Tickets are $15 and include a box dinner and the opportunity to win numerous door prizes.
