Tips from the Vance County Parenting Task Force
Children love to dig in the dirt. You can make digging and planting a fun way to help your little ones eat more fruits and vegetables.
It is possible to grow and harvest vegetables and fruits practically year-round with container gardening. Container gardening offers flexibility over traditional gardening. The containers can be placed in a sunny or shady spot, moved to a sheltered area for extreme weather and be protected from wildlife that may damage or try to eat your harvest.
By choosing appropriate plant varieties and planting at the right time of year, you can enjoy the benefits of gardening and create a beautiful space just outside your door. At the same time, your little ones can watch the plants grow and proudly enjoy the fruits of their labor.
