Women’s club installs officers, plans program year

The Henderson Business and Professional Women’s Club recently elected officers and held its annual planning meeting for the 2014-2015 club year in the offices of Triangle North Health Foundation.

Officers are Dr. Marty Smith, president; Dianne White, vice president; Val Short, president-elect; Marsha Abbott, secretary; Maria Bailey, parliamentarian; June Blanks, treasurer; and Donna Stearns, assistant treasurer. Officers were installed by Alva Graham, installation officer for North Carolina Business & Professional Women’s Clubs.

The club’s spring meetings for the 2013-2014 year included a program presentation by Pam Hester, the then-downtown manager of the city of Henderson; an introduction to Henderson Collegiate from Caitlin Dietrich; and a breast cancer awareness session and guided tour of the oncology unit of Maria Parham Hospital conducted by Hope Breedlove and Dan Parham.

The club meets on the third Thursday of every month in the classroom at Maria Parham Medical Center.
