Beginner stained glass course
Vance-Granville Community College will offer a beginner stained glass course from 6 to 9 p.m. Mondays, Sept. 12 through Oct. 10, at the Franklin County campus.
Felecia Carr Young, of Wake Forest, is the instructor. She attended a stained glass class as a birthday gift and now owns a glass studio.
Students will learn the basics of creating stained glass art using the copper foil technique invented by Louis Tiffany during the 1880s. They will create two projects, a sun-catcher and a larger window panel, during the course.
The course is a new addition to the personal enrichment and continuing education programs offered by the college.
The cost of the class is $54 per student. Glass working experience is not necessary. Classes are scheduled in room F206.
Registration in advance is required.
