Central Baptist to welcome African Children’s Choir
The internationally acclaimed African Children’s Choir will be coming to Central Baptist Church, 2574 Ruin Creek Road, Henderson, for a performance on Jan. 29 at 6 p.m.
This free concert is open to the public and suitable for all ages. A free-will offering will be taken up during the performance in order to fund programs for its members.
Throughout its history, the choir has been joined on stage by artists such as Paul McCartney, Annie Lennox, Keith Urban and Mariah Carry. Queen Elizabeth II herself has witnessed one of the choir’s concerts.
Performing a selection of African songs and dances, attendees will be treated to popular children’s songs, as well as traditional Spirituals and Gospel standards.
Through its relief efforts, Music for Life (the choir’s parent organization) works in seven African countries, helping to educate thousands of children. By focusing on education, it is the hope of the organization to develop the future leadership of the continent.
