Jan. 18, 2013 @ 11:34 PM

Registration is now under way at Vance-Granville Community College for a computer-aided drafting course. Classes will take place Wednesday nights, Jan. 23-May 1, from 6-9 p.m. on the main campus in Vance County. The instructor for this course will be Gilbert Blaylock.

Several professions make use of the AutoCAD LT software, including engineers, architects, manufacturers, landscapers and interior designs. The drafting and detailing tool allows the user to perform  day-to-day projects simply.

While drafting experience is not a prerequisite for the course, students should be comfortably working with computers. Students should be capable of setting up, drawing and printing simple drawing exercises using different scales, viewports and layout techniques at the conclusion of the course.

The course will cost $120 (along with $7 in fees) to register. Fees will be waived for resident seniors (65 or older) for one course each semester.

For more information or to register, call (252) 738-3417 or 738-3324.
