On Feb. 10, at 7 p.m., one Antwan Hargrove conducted a “Feed the Needy” community drive in an effort to provide a meal for occupants at the Men’s Homeless Shelter, 222 Young St., Henderson.

He was assisted in this endeavor by Brooks Entertainment (out of Raleigh), as well as community members Jessica Wilson, Shaneika Bullock, Dintara Thomas and Alicia Alston. Their efforts culminated in the purchase of three Super Tailgate Specials from Bojangles Restaurant. Richard Terry, Tyrone Griffin, Khalil Wilkerson, Cortney Vass-Henderson and Tyrek Robinson served the meal to the occupants.

Hargrove is currently in the process of forming a nonprofit organization to be called People Helping Other People. Its purpose will be to reach out, inspire, educate, and uplift those in need. He will soon be gathering youth volunteers to assist him.

Anyone interested in lending their assistance can contact Hargrove by calling (252) 213-1116 and email @people_hop.
