Perry Memorial Library to host guest speaker

The Perry Memorial Library will host Father Columba Nnorom on Thursday, July 18, 2013, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Farm Bureau room. He will be presenting “How Catholics and Protestants Fought for Freedom for Mandela & for South Africa” in honor of Nelson Mandela’s 95th birthday.

Nnorom’s discussion will cover his part in the struggle to free Mandela during his incarceration and the cooperation between Christians, both Catholics and Protestants, during those years. Nnorom currently holds a PhD in Political Science from Howard University and specializes in the areas of American Government, International Relations, and African Politics/History.

The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided.
