Darlynn Oxendine has been installed as the president of the Henderson Lions Club for 2013-2014.

She was installed with other new officers at a banquet at Henderson Country Club in June. Lions International Past District Governor John Owens was the installing officer.

Serving as officers with Oxendine will be Randy Oxendine, first vice president and secretary; Karen Catalana, second vice president and treasurer; Wade Moss, tail twister; Emory Taylor, membership chair and director; and Celia Hanks, Melvin Hanks, Blanton Hartness, Mikey Chavis, Shane Jenkins, Joan Robinson and Chris Jaeger, directors. Jae Joyner is the immediate past president.

The civic group meets on the second and fourth Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. at Henderson Country Club. Meetings are occasionally rescheduled for special projects. The Henderson Lions Club primarily serves the needs of the visually and hearing impaired in the community, in addition to other local concerns.

Those interested in attending a club meeting should contact Taylor at (252) 438-7395.
