Club members come together for family fun/resource day

The Clubs Come Together As One Family Fun/Resource Day was held in the parking lot of the Elks lodge on Saturday, June 1, 2013. It started at 10 a.m. and lasted until 3 p.m. It was a day of free food and games.

Minister John Miles was a speaker at the event. AIDS testing and information was provided. An NAACP representative was on site to offer information about the organization. Quon Bridges offered words of encouragement, challenging the students to take learning seriously. There was a prekindergarten registration booth for parents to sign up their children for the upcoming 2013-2014 school year. The Henderson Police Deptartment was on site as well.

Clubs Come together As One is a collaboration of area social clubs, motorcycle clubs, and organizations coming together to unite the community with various resources. The chairperson is Barbara Davis and the co-chairperson is Sha Hawkins.5
