Hospital to host February ‘Snacks & Facts’ on Reflux
Continuing its community outreach efforts into Warren County, Maria Parham Medical Center is set to host a free Snacks & Facts program Friday, from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.
Alexia Edwards, RN, coordinator for The Heartburn Treatment Center at Maria Parham, will present a program entitled “GERD: Not as Funny as It Sounds.” Her discussion will focus on the disease — Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease — and the various options available for treatment.
The event will take place at the Warrenton Rural Volunteer Fire Department. Attendees will be served lunch at 11:30 a.m.: the presentation will follow. Afterwards, Edwards will conduct a question and answer session. Attendees can also expect handouts and giveaways.
Despite that fact that the event and the meal are free, those planning to attend should RSVP Jeannie at (252) 436-1401 no later than Thursday, at 2 p.m., so that arrangements for the meal may be made.
Call backs for reservations will not be possible due to call volume; however, attendees should still leave their name and the number of people in their party. Those who cannot ultimately attend should call back to cancel their reservations.
