Tyler R. Rush
Marine Corps Pvt. Tyler R. Rush, son of Sheila Rush Savage of Kittrell and Ray Rush of Pleasant Garden, graduated from marine recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C.
He underwent a 13-week long, demanding training regiment that included close-order drill, marksmanship with an M-16A4 rifle, physical fitness, martial arts, swimming, military history, customs and courtesies. One week before graduation, Rush endured a 54-hour final test known as The Crucible. He was presented the Marine Corps emblem and referred to as a Marine for the first time upon completion.
Rush is a 2009 graduate of Southeast Guilford High School of Greensboro.
