Pair of performances on deck at community college

Vance-Granville Community College, 200 Community College Road, Henderson, has scheduled two separate gospel programs for the public.

 

Black History event

 

The Society for Preservations for Black Quartet Gospel Music presents its first Black History Gospel Explosion today at the college. Doors will open at 4 p.m., with the service starting at 5:30 p.m.

Tickets in advance are $20 while tickets at the door are $22. Tickets for children under 12 are $5.

Coming out for this special service will be: Doc McKenzie & The Hi-Lites of Lake City, S.C.; Willis Pittman & The Burden Lifters of Richmond, Va.; The Christian Angels of Raleigh; The Visionaires of Henderson, The Gospel Disciples of Henderson and The Mighty Pilgrim Harmonaires of Henderson; and The Spiritual Entertainers and The Lil Soulful Singers of Oxford.

Food and beverages will be available. Raffle tickets will be sold for $1 each or 3 for $5. Cash prizes (three in total) will be given away.

Performing arts youth outreach

 

Make a Joyful Noise Performing Arts Youth Outreach Ministry, in partnership with Big Ruin Creek Baptist Church, will be coming to college on March 8. Doors will open at 5 p.m., with the program starting at 6 p.m.
