Tips from the Vance County Parenting Task Force
Teach children about cultures (their own and others)
There are a rich variety of cultural backgrounds in our schools. Expanding knowledge and understanding of your child’s own and others’ cultures will help them learn to get along with many different types of people. Attend cultural festivals, visit ethnic and history museums, and get books or videos during visits to the library to learn about other worlds. Expose your child to dolls and toys from other cultures.
