Caregiver Education Conference registration

Registration is open until Thursday for the seventh annual Caregiver Education Conference.

The conference will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Vance-Granville Community College.

The event's theme is “the building blocks of successful dementia care” and will involve resources, assessment, treatment and care options for people with dementia and others needing similar care.

Scheduled to present are Lisa P. Gwyther, director of the Duke Aging Center Family Support Program; Caroline Farmer, deputy director of Victim and Citizen Services; J. Gregory Wallace, elder lawyer of the Monroe Wallace Law Group; Melanie Bunn, dementia training consultant for Alzheimers North Carolina; and Kim Emory, family caregiver resource specialist for the Upper Coastal Plain Area Agency on Aging.

Registration is $10 for family caregivers, clergy, students and volunteers and $35 for professionals.

Registration forms may be submitted to Lisa Levine, program director of Alzheimers North Carolina, at 1305 Navaho Drive, Suite 101, Raleigh, NC 27609. Checks should be made payable to Alzheimers North Carolina, Inc.

Respite reimbursement is available but payment is non-refundable after deadline.

Lunch will be provided on site.
