School system seeking volunteer speakers

The Vance County school system is building a list of volunteers who are willing to share their educational and career experiences with students.

The list, called the "Speaker’s Bureau," is meant to help each of the county’s 16 public schools expose students to a wide range of vocations, educational opportunities, important life lessons and more.

To join the list, volunteers must provide the school system with basic contact and job information.

The list is open to the retired and self-employed.
