Meeting set for those interested in starting a family garden

D. Wayne Rowland, Agricultural and Natural Resources Technician with NC Cooperative Extension, Vance County Center, has announced the scheduling of a “Planting The Family Garden” meeting.

This event will take place Monday, at 6:30 p.m., in the upstairs conference room at the cooperative extension center in Vance County, 305 Young St., Henderson. Attendees will learn about the types of plants they can grow in a family garden; caring for vegetables for optimal production; tips on insect and weed control; the nutritional requirements of vegetables; and stimulating interest by family members in creating a garden.
