Judge Banks presides over swearing in of 11 new child advocates

Mary Jo Van Horne, district administrator for the Guardian ad Litem program of Vance, Granville, Warren and Franklin counties recently announced the names of 11 citizens who have completed training to become Guardian ad Litem advocates have taken their oaths. They may now serve abused or neglected children, making sure that their best interests are protected in court and overseeing their prompt placement in safe, permanent homes. Judge J. Henry Banks (back row, center) heard the oaths given by (from left) Dennis Peay, Michelle Scott, Marie Watkins, Mary Marrow, Gail Birdsong, Theresa Cook, BrieAnna Hester, Stephanie Black, Pam Hester, Erris Dunston and Michael Ranes.
