Henderson Middle receives donation from Cruizers
On Wednesday, March 3, Cruizers Convenience Marketplace on Ruin Creek Road presented a $6,500 check to Henderson Middle School as part of the BP Fueling Communities Grant Program.
After meeting with store managers to determine the most deserving organization in the community, Cruizers decided to nominate Henderson Middle.
In a written statement, Edward Holmes, president of Cruizers Convenience Marketplace, discussed reasoning for their decision.
“We were able to qualify for the program and wanted to direct the money to an organization that makes a difference in Vance County,” Holmes said. “During times of budget cuts, we are very proud to be able to provide financial assistance to local schools in our area.”
Dr. John Hargrove, principal at Henderson Middle was present to accept the check, which among other things will be used to purchase 400 books for the school library.
