Data manager at Henderson Middle conducts scheduling sessions at statewide conference
During the 2013 North Carolina Window of Information on Student Education Symposium held in Greensboro from Feb. 25-27, Paris Perkins, a program data manager working at Henderson Middle School for the past 15 years, conducted a two sessions on middle school class scheduling. Each session lasted two hours.
More than 2,500 educators and education support associates — including North Carolina Window of Information on Student Education coordinators, data managers, guidance counselors and principals — attended this event. Both of Perkin’s sessions resulted in heavy attendance.
This year, all public middle and high schools have until either May 1 or June 1 to finish scheduling students for their classes for the following school year. The deadline was moved up as a consequence of the impending conversion from the current information system to the PowerSchool system this summer.
