Experimenting with goop on a rainy day
(From left) Deborah Harris, Vance-Granville Community College Day Care Center, Katrina Boone, Child Care Resource & Referral outreach specialist; and Christy Yount, Great Beginnings Christian Childcare Center, conduct a science experiment in the early childhood classroom — by measuring, pouring and playing with goop. Child care teachers from Franklin, Granville and Vance counties participate in service learning classes to earn contact hours credits to continue their education. Funded by Franklin-Granville-Vance Smart Start, the program’s mission is to improve the quality and availability of child care services by providing and coordinating education, information, trainings and technical assistance.
