College to offer tea class in March

Vance-Granville Community College is offering a course entitled, “Let’s Have an Afternoon Tea,” beginning March 18.

The classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 to 4 p.m. on the college’s main campus in Vance County, concluding with a graduation tea party on April 1 at Magnolia Manor in Warrenton.

The course will cover the history of tea; the differences between afternoon tea, royal tea and “High Tea”; and proper ways to make tea. Each meeting will include a wide variety of tea samples.

Constance Lue of Oxford will be the course instructor.

The cost of the course is $58 for four class sessions and $20 for the graduation tea.

The cost includes a resource manual covering tea recipes, flower arranging and etiquette.

The deadline to register is March 11.
