Optimist Club honors law officers

The Henderson Optimist Club held its annual “Respect for Law” banquet recently. The banquet celebrates the men and women who are in service to the community and awards top officers from the Sheriff’s Department, Police Department, State Highway Patrol, Henderson Fire Department, Vance County Fire Department, and the N.C. State Division of Parks and Recreation.

Deputy Reece Wilkerson received the Sheriff’s Department award; the Police Department award went to Officer Gregory Williams; Trooper Joseph Thomas received the State Highway Patrol award; Fire Fighter Donald Moss received the Henderson Fire Department; the late paramedic John Wilson received the award for the Vance County Fire Department; and the Parks and Recreation award went to Ranger Jessica Williams.

John Pecora, Brit Sams and T.W. Floyd chaired the program.
