Community Watch Association meets Thursday
The Henderson Vance Community Watch Association, along with the Henderson Police Department and Vance County Sheriff’s Office, is holding its first training meeting for community watch groups and others interested in Vance County.
The meeting will be at 7 p.m. Thursday in the auditorium of Maria Parham Medical Center.
The agenda will include a training session to improve communication and cooperation between community watch groups.
The panel will consist of Lt. Irvin Robinson and Craig Thorpe of the Henderson Police Department, Lt. Lloyd Watkins of the Vance County Sheriff’s Office, and also Leonard Hight.
Melvin Franklin and Dr. Gene Wood, association president, will serve as moderators.
In addition, information will be provided on how to start a new community watch.
Each Community Watch group in attendance will be recognized.
The event is open to the public.
