The Daisette Youth Garden Club met for their monthly meeting May 9.

Briana Martin led the devotion by reading, “On the Wings of Prayer,” from the book, “Loving Promises” by Helen Steiner Rice, followed by the group recital of “A Garden Club Prayer.”

Nyasia Miller, club president, conducted the business session. Special recognition of the youth achievements was given.

Martin presented a workshop on “Making Silk Flowers Arrangements.” She used different colors of tissue paper, bud vases and a variety of silk flowers. She showed the youth how to put the tissue paper in the vase and then add the flowers. She told them that tissue paper could be used instead of sand or pebbles.

Attendees sang “Happy Birthday” to member Navin Chavis. Afterward, the meeting adjourned with the group repeating the youth pledge.
