In an effort to assist parents in providing wholesome nutritious food over weekends for children identified as in need, the Vance and Warren County Association of Ministers’ Wives and Ministers’ Widows recently launched its “Pack a Bag” project.

Pinkston Street Elementary School was selected for the project. The president of the association, Ellender LeMay, was on hand when the bags of non-perishable food were presented to students at the school.

This effort represents a 15-year nationwide endeavor to provide proper nourishment to students across America. Locally, several churches and organizations are currently “packing bags” for students (grade K-5) identified within 10 area schools.

Counselors at elementary schools in Vance and Warren counties may be contacted for information concerning the project or about submitting a donation.
