Rev. Dates to speak during Women’s Day observance at Olive Grove

Olive Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Littleton will observe Women’s Day on Sunday at 11 a.m. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Gladys B. Dates, M. Div., a resident of Mitchellville, Md. The Roanoke Chapel Male Chorus and ushers of Littleton will accompany her.

A native of Northumberland County, Va., Dates consecrated The ARK of New Beginnings Ministries International of Largo, Md., on Pentecost Sunday, May 23, 1999. She currently serves there as senior pastor.

In May 1998, Dates earned a master of divinity degree from Howard University School of Divinity, graduating with honors. She received the Ford Foundation Fellowship during her senior year. She has served on faculties for the Progressive National Baptist Convention Eastern Region Christian Education Congress (for Christian Education) and the Evans-Smith Leadership Institute (a biblical studies certification program) at the Samuel D. Proctor School of Theology, Virginia Union University.

Dates was employed by the Department of Commerce for almost 30 years where she served in various analytical, managerial, and technological positions.
