‘Everywhere Fun Fair Bible School’ coming to Plank Chapel

Jun. 14, 2013 @ 09:27 PM

From Monday-Friday, the fellowship hall at Plank Chapel United Methodist Church on Bobbitt Road in Kittrell will be converted into a fairground for the church’s Vacation Bible School. It will be open to ages 3 through youth, regardless of denomination. (Church membership is not a required).

Monday-Thursday, volunteers will check in children and youth upon their arrival at 5:30 p.m. Their evening will begin with supper (furnished by the church) followed by an opening assembly.

Afterward, the Everywhere Fun Fair begins. Groups will rotate through Bible Story, outdoor games, crafts, and science wonders, concluding with a closing assembly. For four days, as they learn about God, they will travel to Japan, the United Kingdom, Australia, Zimbabwe and Mexico. Also during the week, the children and youth will have a mission project, competing for prizes to see which group collects the most money for Agape.

Friday night is Celebration Night, which begins at 7 p.m. Families are all invited to attend, enjoy snacks and see what the children and youth have learned about God’s world during the week.

Attendees will observe a color scheme each day of the celebration, wearing clothing of the appropriate hue: Monday — orange; Tuesday — blue; Wednesday — purple; Thursday — green; and Friday — wearer’s choice.

Each night, parents must enter the fellowship hall and sign out their children at 8:30 p.m. To have your children attend, call Debra Newman at (252) 492-6844.
