Roy gives presentation, House recognized at Senior Circle meeting
The Plank Chapel United Methodist Church Senior Circle recently met in the fellowship hall of the church.
President Faye Woodlief called the meeting to order.
Leo Roy presented a program on safety in the home with a special emphasis on fall prevention for senior adults. Roy works as a physical therapist at Forest Oaks in Louisburg.
The tips he shared included keeping floors free of clutter, having well-lit rooms and making phones easy to access. He also stressed the importance of regular exercise in order to maintain balance and flexibility.
Following the program, Hilma Smith, the Plank Chapel historian, recognized Kay House, who has served the circle since its inception in 1989 by presenting programs, decorating the fellowship hall and providing religious tracts to members and guests at every meeting, among other things.
