‘Cokesbury cares for Carver’

Members of Cokesbury United Methodist Church recently made efforts to improve the grounds and entrance of Carver Elementary School as part of a summer mission project called “Cokesbury cares for Carver.”

With donations of gravel, plants, picnic tables and supplies from a number of local businesses, church members mowed grass and landscaped areas around entrances and the sign in front of the school.

The children and youth helped stain picnic tables and spread mulch and gravel.

Two mission groups from Cokesbury UMC came up with the idea independently.

Church members plan to stay involved with the school during the academic year by volunteering with students and continuing to help maintain the grounds.
