Mills Family to kickoff July Jubilation at South Henderson Pentecostal

Jul. 05, 2013 @ 09:34 PM

Every Sunday night during the month of July, South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church will present a different singing group. This Sunday, at 6 p.m., The Mills Family — made up of Mike (top right); his wife, Jimille (upper right), along with their children, Brooke (lower right), and Mikey and Leah (bottom right) — will kickoff the celebration. All of the members are Native Americans from the Haliwa-Saponi tribe, the family resides in Hollister. Mike, himself an ordained Bishop in the Church of God (Cleveland, Tenn.), will preach twice in the morning (at 8:30 and 11 a.m.). The family, in turn, will perform in concert later that evening. Mike is the nephew of singer/songwriter, Quinton Mills: he, along with Jimille, travelled with his uncle for 12 years prior to launching a full-time ministry in 1988. Jimille, a frequent speaker at ladies conferences and seminars, serves on both the State Women’s Ministries Board and the Music Committee for Eastern North Carolina. Brooke, who began singing with her parents at the age of 2, now, at 21 fronts her own band, Brooke Mills and The Revolution. Both at 12 years old, Mikey and Leah recently released their own kid’s CD, entitled “Young Believers.”
