Holy Temple to stage Easter play

On Palm Sunday, at 1:30 p.m., Holy Temple Church, 728 East Ave., Henderson, will present an Easter play, “Been Converted,” with African-American poetry and spiritual songs will be presented. It was written by Valerie P Hariston, who will also direct the performance. Admission is free.

Hairston earned a bachelor of arts degree in English from North Carolina State University, as well as a master of arts degree in counseling from North Carolina Central University. She has taught and counseled for 25 years. She currently works as a counselor at Zeb Vance Elementary School.

She is the daughter of Mrs. Freddie Pearson and the late Samuel Pearson. She has two sons, Stephon Hairston and Grant Hairston.
