Easter play to be presented March 24 at Holy Temple
The public is welcome to celebrate Palm Sunday, March 24, 2013, at 1:30 p.m., at Holy Temple United Holy Church on East Avenue. The church will present an Easter play, “Been Converted,” written by Valerie Pearson Hairston. with African-American poetry and spiritual songs. Hairston herself will direct the play.
Hairston earned a bachelor of arts degree in English from North Carolina State University, as well as a master of arts degree in counseling from North Carolina Central University. She has taught and counseled for 25 years. She currently works as a counselor at Zeb Vance Elementary School.
She is the daughter of Mrs. Freddie Pearson and the late Samuel Pearson. She has two sons, Stephon Hairston and Grant Hairston.
