Candice Winters and Jonathan Wayne Edwards of Castalia were married united in marriage Feb. 22, 2013, at 3 p.m., outside, on the beach, at Kill Devil Hills. The Rev. Tanya Young of Kitty Hawk officiated the ceremony.

A special ceremony was held in the cafeteria at Southern Vance High School on April 2 for 75 students as they were inducted into the school’s chapter of the National Honor Society.

Victory Christian School has announced the names of those students who earned honor roll recognition for the third nine weeks period of the 2012-2013 academic year.

Vance-Granville Community College has released the names of those students who made the dean’s list for the fall semester, ending in December 2012. A total of 306 students were recognized. Students achieving this honor maintained a 3.5 grade-point average and had no grade lower than a “B” while carrying at minimum of 12 semester hours.

Brooke McLean Patterson and Barrett Massey Jenkins were united in marriage Saturday, April 13, 2013, at six o’clock in the evening at Christ Episcopal Church in Raleigh. The Rev. Herschel Miller Hunter Jr. officiated. A reception followed the ceremony at Carolina Country Club.
