Kate Marie Lassiter weds Joshua Adam Parker
Kate Marie Lassiter and Joshua Adam Parker of Henderson were united in marriage at 2 p.m. on July 27 at First Baptist Church. Dr. Marion D. Lark officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert F. Lassiter of Henderson. She is the granddaughter of Marjorie W. Gregg of Henderson and the late Dickson R. Gregg, as well as Dorothy A. Lassiter of Henderson and the late Joseph F. Lassiter. She is a graduate of East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science in business administration with a concentration in marketing. She is currently employed by State Employees Credit Union.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Larry A. Parker of Henderson. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Connie Abbott and Mrs. Joanne Parker of Laurinburg, and the late Andrew Parker III. He is a graduate of East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in business administration with a concentration in finance and a master’s in business administration with a certificate in finance. He is currently employed as a financial examiner by N.C. Commissioner of Banks.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. She wore a strapless gown of ivory alencon lace with a bodice featuring a sweetheart neckline and natural waist, the full skirt flowing into a semi cathedral train. The gown was decorated with seed pearls, clear sequins and crystals. The bride wore a single strand of pearls belonging to Joyce Parker, mother of the groom, a pearl bracelet belonging to Mary-Jo Wilson, aunt of the bride, and a pair of pearl earrings, a gift from the groom. Her headpiece was an elbow length, one tier lace alencon veil. She carried a bouquet of white roses, white lilies and white stephanotis. The stems were wrapped with a remnant of her mother’s wedding dress.
The maid of honor was Jennifer Lassiter, sister of the bride. The bridesmaids were Lee Parker, sister-in-law of the groom; Alyssa Parker, niece of the groom; and Paige Pernell, Nancy Pendergrass and Kristy Thomas, all friends of the bride.
The best man was Larry Parker, father of the groom. The groomsmen were Andrew Parker and Lance Parker, brothers of the groom; Aaron Parker, nephew of the groom; and John Charles Stancil and Stuart Fletcher, friends of the groom.
Ella Macon Harrison, cousin of the bride, served as flower girl.
A program of wedding music was performed by Mark L. Hopper, organist.
The wedding director was Mary-Jo Wilson, aunt of the bride. Meredith Wester served as register attendant, and Brandy Rivers served as program attendant.
Following the ceremony, the reception was hosted by the parents of the bride at Henderson Country Club.
After a honeymoon cruise to the Caribbean, the couple now resides in Raleigh.
A bridal shower was hosted by Mary-Jo Wilson, Krista Lassiter and Dorothy Lassiter.
A bridal shower was hosted by Joyce Parker, Rose Walker, Shirley Royster, Patsy Rivers and the ladies of Brookston Baptist Church.
A lingerie shower was hosted by Jennifer Lassiter and Meredith Wester.
A bachelorette party was hosted by the bridesmaids.
The rehearsal dinner took place at Henderson Country Club, hosted by the parents of the groom.
