The Zeb Vance School Class of 1958 recently held its 55th class reunion in the educational building at Fuller’s Chapel Church.

The theme of the event was “Sakes Alive, It’s Our 55!”

The class and their guests met for a catered dinner.

Jenny Edwards Bridges gave the invocation.

The special guest for the occasion was Margaret Bridges, the mother of Alice Bridges Edwards and Jimmy Bridges and mother in law to Jenny Bridges. She is 97 years old and the last remaining parent of a class member. She was presented with a red carnation vase from the class.

Following the dinner, group pictures were taken and booklets detailing the history of the last eight reunions were given to class members. The booklets were created by Arlene Edwards, Betty Simpson and hostess Jenny Bridges.

A table was set up in honor of the deceased. Framed photographs of Grady Carriker Jr., Jewel Pulley Dickerson, Arnold Grissom and Billy Brown sat on the table. White bud vases honoring each deceased class member adorned the table. White balloons imprinted with their names were released in their memory by the group at the end of the evening.

A desert hour followed the dinner.

Music in the style of the 50s was played throughout the evening.
