Barton College

Amber Faye Gupton, a senior majoring in social work at Barton College in Wilson and a native of Henderson, has been named to the dean’s list for the 2012 fall semester.
Full-time students of the college must earn a minimum GPA of 3.30 during a particular semester to qualify for this recognition.
She is the daughter of Faye Gupton of Henderson and Randall Gupton of Cokesbury. She is also the granddaughter of the late Roy and Flossie Gupton of Henderson and Mildred Shearin and the late Robert Shearin of Warrenton.

 

N.C. State

Mary Hannah Ross received a bachelor of science degree in biological sciences from North Carolina State University during its December 2012 commencement exercises.
Graduating cum laude, Ross also earned a minor in Spanish. She received the NCSU 2012 Outstanding Woman for Community Involvement award and the 2011-2012 Emerging Career Educator Leader award. A member of Alpha Delta Pi, she served as sorority president in 2012. She was also a member of the Order of Omega Honor Society.
She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul R. Ross, and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. Travis Ross, Jr. and Mr. and Mrs. John H. Falkner. She will attend the Campbell University School of Pharmacy this coming fall.

 

UNC-Greensboro

Erica Lynn Deal of Henderson, a sophomore at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, was recently named to the Chancellor’s List, which requires students to earn a 3.65 grade point ratio or above on a 4.0- scale. Subsequently, she also earned dean’s list honors (3.50 GPA or higher).
She is the daughter of Vicki Deal of Henderson and the late Eric Deal.
