Henderson High Class of ’54 celebrates 60th anniversary
Members of the Henderson High School Class of 1954 celebrated the 60th anniversary of their graduation with a reunion June 21 at Henderson Country Club.
The graduates met in the snack bar for a social hour before partaking of a meal of hamburgers, chips and salad.
In his welcome Billy Hester, who has served as class secretary, said that of the original 88 members of the class, 36 are deceased. Twenty-three were present for the reunion. They brought with them spouses and special friends.
John Zollicoffer offered an invocation.
Norma Chappell Irvine served as mistress of ceremonies.
Music was supplied by Root Cellar, with David Irvine Jr. on guitar and vocals, Stephanie Irvine on percussion and Robert Irvine on guitar and vocals.
After 60 years, the graduates were living evidence of their class motto: “Not finished, just begun.”
