Pernell state finalist in pageant
Joelle Pernell competed against other state finalists June 27 through June 29 during this year’s National American Miss North Carolina pageant held in Winston-Salem.
National American Miss Pageants are held for girls four to 18 years old and consist of five age groups. They are designed to encourage future leaders while emphasizing self-confidence, learning new skills, good attitudes and achieving personal goals.
Pernell works at the Henderson Family YMCA and regularly volunteers at a local animal shelter.
She is the daughter of Scott Pernell and Jeannie Ball.
