College announces paramedic graduates
Vance-Granville Community College recently graduated five area residents from its 11-month-long Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic program.
The graduates were Dylan Cash and James Poteat of Grassy Creek; Richard Lovings of Henderson; Melissa Clark of Oxford; and Quentin Woody of Watkins.
Vivian Loyd served as instructor for the course.
The training involved 596 hours of didactic training, either 500 hours of clinical education or a field internship, a 203-hour EMT-Basic course and a state exam.
Now the students must take the 100-question N.C. Office of Emergency Medical Services credentialing exam to become state-certified.
