The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Christopher W. Moss of Henderson. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles D. Barker of Henderson and Mrs. Faye K. Moss and the late Mr. Richard W. Moss of Kittrell. The bride is a graduate of Northern Vance High School and Meredith College, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in English and a licensure in secondary education. For the occasion, the alters of the church were decorated with two large vintage-designed fresh cut arrangements with Queen Ann’s lace, magnolia, green cabbage roses, seeded eucalyptus and variegated pittosporum. Selected pews featured magnolia and camelia greens. Greens were placed among the photos and various creme “Memorial” candles were placed in the church vestibule by the bride and groom. The doors to the church featured two large bouquets of polished Magnolia.

Marshall Hilliard, violinist, of Kittrell, played “How Great Thou Art,” “Amazing Grace” and “How Great is Thy Faithfulness” as guests were being seated. Jacob Hilliard, pianist, of Kittrell, played “Wind Beneath My Wings” as the mothers of the bride and groom were seated. After the exchanging of vows, Jon Barker, guitarist, of Henderson, uncle of the bride, played “Falling in Love with You.” As the couple left the sanctuary, Jacob Hilliard played “Ode to Joy” on piano.

Given in marriage and escorted by her father, the bride wore her mother’s formal wedding gown of cotton eyelet with an off-shoulder portrait neckline. Venice Lace adorned the empire waist and semi-fitted skirt, which formed tiers accented with borders of matching lace, extending into a chapel-length train. In her hair she wore a chapel-length veil of silk illusion. The bride’s jewelry consisted of pearl earrings given to her by the groom and her Aunt Beverly’s pearl necklace. The bride carried a large fresh arrangement of Seeded-Eucalyptus, Queen Ann’s Lace, Lisianthus, Freesia, Variegated Pittosporum and Veronica tied with ivory silk fabric and adorned with family mementos representing each of her grandparents. The groom’s boutonniere featured lamb’s ear and greens matching those in the bride’s bouquet.
