Jill Susanne Holtzman and Bradley Taylor Perkinson marry

Jill Susanne Holtzman of Henderson and Bradley Taylor Perkinson of Warrenton were united in marriage in a ceremony officiated by Robert Evans III of Macon on April 13, 2013, at 4 p.m., at Island Creek Baptist Church in Henderson.

The bride is the daughter of Charles and Susan Holtzman of Henderson. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Stem of Henderson and Mr. and Mrs. John Bernard Holtzman of Manson. She received a bachelor of science degree in communication sciences disorders, with a minor child development and family relations, and a master of science degree in speech language pathology from East Carolina University. She is currently employed as a speech language pathologist at WakeMed in Raleigh.

The groom is the son of Royce and Joyce Perkinson of Warrenton. He is the grandson of Mrs. Ann T. Matthews and the late David Thomas Matthews Sr. of Henderson and the late Mr. and Mrs. Milton Perkinson of Henderson. He received a bachelor of science degree in construction management, with a minor in business administration, from East Carolina University. He is currently employed as an assistant project manager with Environmental Air Systems in Greensboro.

The bride was escorted by her father and was presented in marriage by her parents. She wore an ivory silk taffeta ball gown with a fitted bodice covered in Alençon lace that formed a V-neckline and cap sleeves that continued over a fully covered lace back. The bodice was accented with a beaded belt and covered buttons down the back. The skirt featured Alençon lace appliqués in the front center of the dress that continued around the hem of the dress and chapel length train. Her headpiece was a two-layer fingertip illusion veil embellished with beaded lace appliqués scattered around the edge. Blue satin pumps completed the look.

She carried a wrapped bouquet of bluebird roses, purple hydrangea, purple calla lilies, purple statice, and fuchsia and green phalaenopsis orchids. She carried a white handkerchief embroidered with purple flowers that belonged to her maternal great grandmother; and an ivory and lace handkerchief that belonged to her paternal great grandmother. She wore pearl and diamond drop earrings and pendant, a gift from her parents; and a pearl bracelet, a gift from the groom. 

The matron of honor was Molly McCullough Ortiz of Lake Bay, Wash. (friend of the bride). The bridesmaids were Jennifer Rose Hawley of Wilson (friend of the bride); and Kristen Leigh Holtzman, Emily Laine Morgan, Rachel Alexandria Morgan and Sarah Morgan Tucker (cousins of the bride), all of Manson. The flower girls were Devin Leigh Greenway and Jordan Reese Greenway (nieces of the groom); and Mackenzie Renia Holtzman and Natalie Susanne Holtzman (nieces of the bride). Honorary attendants were Heather Perkinson Greenway (sister of the groom); Jamie Ross Holtzman and Deborah Leigh Finch Holtzman (sisters in law of the bride); and Jennifer Mooneyhan Wise, Miss Mariah Krupa, Miss Mary Claire Wise, Miss Elle Wise and Miss Charlotte Wise (cousins of the bride).

The best man was Royce Taylor Perkinson (father of the groom). The groomsmen were William Eric Bartholomew (friend of the groom); Justin Lloyd Holtzman and Kyle Stem Holtzman (brothers of the bride); and Jonathan Edward Rooker and Derrick Holt Stegall (friends of the groom).

A program of wedding music was presented by Mr. Paul Bumbalough, organist, and Mr. David Hicks, soloist. The wedding was directed by Mrs. Connie Raines. Mrs. Alicia Daeke served as register attendant. Mrs. Adrienne Seaman and Mrs. Jan Marie Bartholomew served as program attendants.

Following the ceremony, a dinner and dance reception was hosted by the bride’s parents at the Warrenton Armory Civic Center where guests were greeted by Wayne and Charity Norwood. After a honeymoon trip to Moorea, Tahiti, the couple now resides in Henderson.

On April 12, 2013, the rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents at Island Creek Baptist Church.

On April 7, a dessert hour was hosted by Vallie Stem (grandmother of the bride) and Virginia Owen and Faye Owen (great-aunts of the bride) at the Cabin of Linda Watkins.

On April 6, a winery tour and “Girl’s Night In” was hosted by Alicia Daeke and Jan Marie Bartholomew at the Rosemont Winery in LaCrosse, Va., and at the home of Jan Marie Bartholonew.

On April 6, a bridesmaids luncheon was hosted by aunts of the bride Betty Morgan and Cheryl  Holtzman at the Ridgeway Opry House.

On March 23, a miscellaneous shower was hosted by the groom’s family, Connie Matthews, Betsy Clayton, Brenda Wheeler, Kelly Barker and Carrie Wheeler, at Island Creek Baptist Church.

On March 23, a bachlorette party was hosted by the bridesmaids in Raleigh.

On March 9, a Pampered Chef Shower was hosted by Sarah Tucker, Emily Morgan, Rachel Morgan, Leigh Holtzman, Jennifer Hawley, Jamie Holtzman, Heather Greenway and Deborah Leigh Holtzman at Drewry Volunteer Fire Department.

On March 8, a “Stock the Bar” Shower was hosted by Richard and LouAnne Bender and Ashley and Margaret White at the home of Richard and LouAnne Bender.

On Feb. 17, a miscellaneous shower was held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on Feb. 17, hosted by the ladies of the church.
