Pottery festival — 46th annual Fall Pottery and Glass Blowing Festival from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Cedar Creek Gallery.

Genealogical Society — The Vance County Genealogical Society meets at 5:30, an hour earlier than normal, in the Farm Bureau Room of the Perry Memorial Library; 2014-2015 officers will be installed; Joanne Carpenter will present; members and guests can dress as their favorite ancestor or historical person, the extra hour is to allow for costume explanations.
