Blood Drive — A community blood drive will be held from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Salvation Army Church.

Vance-Granville — Vance-Granville Community College is holding Earth Day festivities from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at its campuses in Vance, Granville and Franklin counties.

Farmers Market — Free sweet potatoes will be distributed at the Vance County Regional Farmers Market from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in honor of Earth Day; the potatoes will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Plate Sale — Rebuilding Hope is holding its seventh bi-annual chicken plate fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at249 N. Recycling Day — Henderson-Vance Recycling Day will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the front parking lot of the city operations center on Beckford Drive, Henderson; household recyclables and items including but not limited to electronics, machinery parts, clothes, shoes and toys will be accepted for recycling; no hazardous materials will be accepted; the event is open to the public.

Car Expo — The Heavenly Angels Among Us will present the eighth annual Antwain Wimbush Bike Ride and Car Expo from noon to 5 p.m. in downtown Henderson; registration will be from 10:30 a.m. to noon at 911 N. Garnett St.; there will be food and games.
