Microchip Clinic — A microchip clinic sponsored by the Humane Society of Granville County is from 1 to 4 p.m. at Southern States in Oxford; microchips are $20 each, including lifetime registration.

Vance Charter — The Vance Charter School Board of Directors meets at 7 p.m. in the media center at the school.

Genealogical Society — The Vance County Genealogical Society 1881 meets at 11:30 a.m. at Ribeye’s in Henderson; Connie Roberson will present a program on the Pendergrass and Cole families; the meeting is open to the public.

 

TUESDAY

Masonic lodge — The Henderson Masonic Lodge No. 229 meets on the third Tuesday of each month at the lodge, 401 Brodie Road, Henderson; meal is served at 6 p.m.; stated communication at 7 p.m.; open to lodge members and visiting Master Masons.

Community Watch — The West End Community Watch Group meets at 6:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall of West End Baptist Church; the speaker will be Tony Mills, an ATF agent; a police report will be given; the meeting is open to the public.

Shrine Club — The Henderson Shrine Club will hold its annual fish fry today from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Vance Square shopping center on Raleigh Road across from Supply Line Country Market; plates are $7 each; the meal will feature fish, slaw, potatoes and hush puppies; beverages will be available for those who eat in; all proceeds will benefit the Shriners Hospitals for Children.

Victory Christian — The Victory Christian School graduation ceremony will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the school’s church auditorium.

Memorial Service — A memorial service for veterans will be held at 2 p.m. at Rock Bridge Cemetery in Henderson; the event will honor the 16 veterans buried at the cemetery; the event is open to the public.

Knitting club — The knitting club at Perry Memorial Library will not meet in observance of Memorial Day.
